“We recognized that in order to bring the people to the level of consciousness where they would seize the time, it would be necessary to serve their interests in survival by developing programs which would help them to meet their daily needs.”
“All these programs satisfy the deep needs of the community but they are not solutions to our problems. That is why we call them survival programs, meaning survival pending revolution.”
-Huey P. Newton

We are constantly tasked to answer the question: How can we materially support the people around us? Our reality remains that under capitalism, tens of millions of people living in the United States face food insecurity, with Africans, 3W migrants, and Indigenous peoples disproportionately affected. All the while, this imperialist state continues to commit war crimes abroad, dropping thousands of bombs a year in the Middle East and Asia, casting devastating embargoes and sanctions against countless nations in the Third World, and funding genocide in Palestine.
These sobering facts compel us to engage our artistic work with mutual aid and participate in trusted initiatives which improve the daily lives of our community members. In addition to direct partnerships and collaborations with local community organizations and aid distribution groups, our concerts and events include monetary donations and/or pantry items that will go directly towards families in need and/or trustworthy and sustainable organizations (i.e. Black & Native-led farms, community gardens, food pantries, free stores, legal and bail funds).
